This document describes an experimental demonstration of the Infopipe concept, called the Infopipe Stub Generator (ISG). Infopipe manages information flow through an explicit description of its syntax, semantics, and Quality of Service requirements. We designed and implemented the ISG, which generates the code to parse and generate XML representations of information flow. Using ISG, developers may concentrate on the transformation of information, rather than spending time on the tedious and error-prone tasks of parsing and generating fast-changing XML streams. Our experiment also includes building an instant messaging application using Infopipe, so we can evaluate Infopipe concepts and our implementation. The first results have been encouraging.
