Collaborative Computing

In the ELC Lab, we do research on collaborative computing. We study how people work together online, and use those insights to design new collaborative systems. We deploy those systems with real users, and study what happens using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Current research in the ELC Lab includes studies of technology's role in mediating violence, empathetic online communities for men, worker communication in the service industry, and AI's impact on skill development among open-source contributors.
