Mike has been involved with the LBD project for 4 years as a participant, a consultant, and, now, a full-time researcher. Mike currently serves to:

• provided teacher training in inquiry based science teaching
• write curriculum for the LBD science units
• initiate and conduct research to explore teacher efficacy, classroom assessment , and professional development initiatives within the project

Mike is certified to teach middle and secondary science. From 1997-2000, Mike taught Physical Science, using LBD, at Taylor Road Middle School, Fulton County Schools, near Atlanta. Mike's interests lie in furthering education reforms targeting inquiry based teaching and greater science literacy among students. Other interests include playing sports (soccer), University of Michigan (alma mater) Football, hiking, reading, and cooking. Mike and his wife Allison have enjoyed living in Atlanta for five years, and they look forward to many more
