A source capability profile tells what is in an information
source and what types of services are provided about its content.
It not only contains the content and
query capability description but may also include, for instance,
statistics on the local data (e.g., size of relations),
availability of the source with respect to the access cost
and access authorization, as well as update capabilities of the
source. In this section we will focus
only on the source category, content,
and query capability descriptions, since they are the
essential components of the source capability profile
and are used extensively in each step of the query routing
process.
