Using PV-WAVE

The PV-Wave Command Language allows you to quickly produce graphics of your data by entering commands or using simple scripts. The scripts are shorter and simpler than equivalent plotting calls would be in C or Fortran. Wave supports a wide range of 1-, 2-, and 3-D plotting including a rich set of annotations, axis capabilities and numbering, and plot types. It thus fills a real gap in the SciVis Lab. Wave also handles time series of data and animation, image processing, multivariate data analysis, contours and surfaces, signal processing, and numerical computation. For the latter it contains a set of general mathematical functions for pre- and post-processing. Wave can be considered an enriched version of IDL since both have the same origin. It is also the next-generation follow-on to batch plotting packages such as DI-3000.
