15.2 IMPORTANT License Server information for concurrent licensees.

We provide license server software on our installation media primarily to support downlevel operating systems and to resolve compatibility issues for certain platforms. With this in mind, PLEASE adhere to the following:

• USE the license server (NetLS or the newer iFOR/LS) that is already set up on your network or that is distributed with your operating system, with a few exceptions. A notable exception are certain SGI IRIX distributions containing an incompatible build of the server software.

• DO NOT use the Data Explorer distribution media and installation tools to install a license server unless you have determined that an appropriate level of iFOR/LS or NetLS is not already installed on your server or distributed with its operating system.

• PLAN the license server installation (choose an appropriate machine, etc.). SCRUTINIZE the instructions. Send email to dxsupp@watson.ibm.com if you have any questions about versions or procedures.
