What is a GT-SAIC Scholar?
Scholars can be either a freshman or sophomore undergraduate or first-year Masters student.
SCHOLAR BENEFITS
- Involvement in an SAIC-approved research project with graduate
- Scholars receive a student payment that is applied to their student account for participation in the GT-SAIC Program

Returning Scholars receive a slightly increased student payment

Payment is disbursed upon:
1. Completion of all research lab hours
2. Attendance at all Professional Development Workshop Series
3. Attendance at Program Kick-Off and End-Of-Year Events
- Monthly funded lunches to facilitate relationships among all SAIC research groups, which consist of Scholars and graduate Mentors (these lunches may also be attended by SAIC Professional Scholars and Program Staff).
- Networking opportunities for all Scholars and graduate Mentors with SAIC Executives and Professionals as well as within the Georgia Tech community.
- Participation in Professional Development Workshop Series facilitated by SAIC Professionals.
- Academic support and monitoring
- Program Kick-Off and End-of-Year Banquets for all Scholars and graduate Mentors (End-of-Year Banquet will include research poster presentations as well as an “Outstanding Research Project” Award judged and awarded by the SAIC Corporation).
- Scholar and graduate Mentor participation and sponsorship at annual Grace Hopper and Richard Tapia conference (SAIC Corporation to sponsor a reception for conferees).
- Program paraphernalia (GT-SAIC T-shirt and Jacket)
What is a GT-SAIC Mentor?
Graduate Mentors can be either a Ph.D. or Masters student who has already engaged in preliminary work on their research project.
