Taxonomy Item Empirical Studies of Software Visualization
In this research, one is examining the utility and value of algorithm
animations as a pedagogical aid. Some of our early results indicate
that just having students passively watch animations may not be good
enough. The students need to be actively involved,
try out their own data sets, etc. What seems best of all would be to
have the students build their own animations.
