Introduction

This document has been created in the hope that it will help new students in a Java course through the sometimes difficult process of downloading and installing the Java Developer's Kit. At the time of the writing of this document the current JDK was version 2 and therefore the document covers the download, installation and troubleshooting of that perticular version. But, the basic ideas behind this set of instructions should help you to install any other version of JDK you run across.
