Debugging Strategies

• Compile-time errors:

  • The compiler will yell at you about them.

• BUT . . . industry research shows . . .

  • It is a time-waster to:
    • code sloppy
    • use the compiler to find your mistakes

• It is faster to:

  • check the “annoying details”
    of your code to catch them
    BEFORE compilation.
    

• Lesson: don’t become a

compiler junkie!
