Mailman / MajorDomo (important local mailing lists)

Majordomo

Check out the Mailman page for lists it manages.
Mailman mailing lists are managed through an online interface that is fairly easy to use

Majordomo Commands

Here are a couple of useful mailing lists that you may want to subscribe to. 

os-seminar
systems-lab
disl  (disl group members only)
public (get news and information on software installed in /usr/local/public)
slush (general discussion newsgroup -- fit for any topic related to grad students at GaTech, serious or otherwise)
To subscribe send email to majordomo@cc and put the following in the body of your message: 
subscribe os-seminar wyan@cc.gatech.edu
<repeat for each list, and replace wyan's email address with yours >


Another useful command that you can send to majordomo is 

lists
This will give you a listing of all of the mailing lists hosted by majordomo

will give you further information
