A few words from Erik Granered who conducted this analysis:This all started as part of my Masters thesis at University of Maryland. I wanted to find out if the Internet was a viable alternative to other international market entry strategies. To evaluate the Internet as a market entry strategy I had to find out who was using it in other parts of the world. At first I toyed with doing my own survey, but instead the nice folks at GVU let me have a dataset of the non-US respondents to their 3rd Survey, May 1995. From that data I put together WWW User Profiles by Geographic Region, which showed up as an appendix to my thesis.
Because I enjoyed analyzing the survey responses, I figured I'd follow up with another project, hence "European WWW User Profiles" from 10/95 and from 5/96.
