T. Govindaraj
is with the
Center for Human-Machine
Systems Research in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
He received his Bachelor of
Technology and M.S. degrees in aeronautical engineering from
Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1971 and 1973. In the U.S.,
he received his Master's degree at MIT
in aeronautics and astronautics in
1977, and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in 1979. He has been at Georgia Tech since
1982, after spending three years on the faculty of the School of
Industrial Engineering at Purdue.
His research focuses on human-centered
automation and supervisory control in technologically complex
environments. Dr. Govindaraj studies human-machine computer interacti on,
with the goal of developing computer-based systems to assist the human
operator. The domains of interest include aerospace systems, manufacturing
systems, computer and communication networks, steam power plants, and
health care delivery systems. His current areas of interest include:
computers, automation and manufacturing systems, simulation and
programming environments, human-machine/computer interaction, interactive
learning environments for science and engineering education, and
intelligent computer aided instruction.
