Richard Catrambone,
Associate Professor in the School of Psychology,
received his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the
University of Michigan in 1988.
His research area explores how people learn from
examples and instructions in order to solve novel problems or apply an old
procedure to unfamiliar cases; in particular, he is interested in
developing theory-based techniques for improving examples and
instructions. His work is funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific
Research.
He is a member of the Cognitive Science Society, the
Psychonomic Society, and the American Psychological Association.
