John Stasko,
Associate Professor of Computer Science in the College of
Computing, earned his Ph.D. at
Brown University
in Providence, Rhode Island. He is the developer of the
TANGO and POLKA software visualization systems.
His research interests are software visualization,
human-computer interaction, programming environments, and parallel
programming. Specifically, he is interested in examining how visualization
and animation can make software development, debugging, and evaluation
easier and faster. Dr. Stasko has been the principal investigator on
projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the
Office of Naval Research, and Sun Microsystems.
He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, ACM, and SIGCHI.
