Gregory D. Abowd, an Assistant Professor
in the College of Computing,
received the degree of D. Phil. in Computation from the
University of Oxford in 1991,
where he attended as a Rhodes Scholar. His research
interests include software engineering and human-computer interaction.
His work concentrates on the application of formal specification
techniques and software architecture in the design and analysis of
interactive systems. His specific application areas of interest include
personal information management and mobile computing. He has co-authored
the textbook Human-Computer Interaction, published by Prentice Hall,
and he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, IEEE Computer Society and the ACM.
