Christine M. Mitchell
was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA in 1950. She
received the B.A. degree in mathematics and English in 1972 from the
University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio,
the M.S. in mathematics in 1975
from John Carroll University, Cleveland, Ohio, and the Ph.D. in
industrial
and systems engineering in 1980 from
The Ohio State University,
Columbus, Ohio. She is Professor of
Industrial and Systems Engineering
and Adjunct Professor of
Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dr. Mitchell is a senior faculty member with the Georgia Tech
Center for Human-Machine
Systems Research, and a faculty-affiliate of both Georgia Tech's
Cognitive Sciences Program and the
Graphics, Visualization, and Usability Center.
She joined the Georgia Tech faculty in 1984.
From 1980 until 1984, she was a member of Decision Sciences faculty at
George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.
