Chris Shaw
Senior Research Scientist

Chris Shaw is a Senior Research Scientist in the College of Computing.
He received his Ph.D. degree in Computing Science from the University of
Alberta in 1997. He received a MSC in Computing Science also from the University of
Alberta in 1988, and an Honours B.Math in Computer Science with Electrical
Engineering Electives from the University of Waterloo in 1986. His research
interests include Virtual Environments, Two-Handed User Interfaces, and
Scientific + Geospatial + Information Visualization. His work concentrates
on the creation and study of highly interactive 3D user interfaces for large,
complex 3D spaces.
Chris is Panels Chair for SIGGRAPH 2002, and is Program
Co-Chair for ACM VRST 2001. He is also
a member of the Virtual Environments Group
at Georgia Tech.
