Objective:
Development of leading edge computer technologies emphasizing use of
artificial intelligence, neural networks, and visualization techniques.
Experience:
- Graduate research assistant, programmer. Artificial Intelligence Laboratory,
Georgia Tech Research Institute, Atlanta, Georgia (August 1994 - Present):
- Currently, integrating intelligent neural network control of traffic
lights in order to maximize traffic flow in the Advanced Traffic
Management System (ATMS) developed by Georgia Tech Research Institute.
- Research assistant, primary programmer and system administrator for
the Computational Physics and Natural Computing Laboratory, Radford
University, Radford, Virginia (August 1993 - August 1994):
- Developed series of animations and simulations on a Silicon Graphics
computer demonstrating various phenomena such as: psychological visual
illusions; quantum physics' wave-particle principle tutorials; and models
of systems controlled by neural networks. In addition, I was responsible
for all system administration operations.
- Research assistant, internship at Accurate Automation Corporation,
Chattanooga, Tennessee (May - August, 1993):
- Developed and implemented the CORTECON (Context sensitive Temporally
Connected neural network) providing extended temporal pattern recognition
(an extension for the next research). Participated in several publications.
- Research assistant, Radford University, Radford, Virginia (February -
December, 1992):
- Accomplished complete system design, development, and characterization
of advanced "computational engine" incorporating principles from both
neural networks and statistical physics. Participated in several
publications.
- UNIX lab proctor, Radford University, Radford, Virginia (September, 1991 -
December, 1992):
- Verified authorized lab access, and provided help for lab users.
- Stage technician, Radford University, Radford, Virginia (January, 1991 -
May, 1991):
- Responsible for sound and lights operations for music and visual art
performances.
- Electrical technician, Israel Electric Corporation, Tel-Aviv, Israel
(May, 1989 - May, 1990):
- Member of a maintenance team responsible for supplying scheduled
and failure based maintenance to high power transformation stations.
Education:
- B.S. Computer Science, Minor: Mathematics. December
1993, Radford University,Radford, Virginia.
- G.P.A.: 3.83/4.00 overall; 3.95/4.00 major and minor courses.
- Awards: Outstanding student award in Computer Science, 1994, Radford University.
- Computer Languages: Assembly, Pascal, C, C++, Ada, Prolog.
- Operating Systems: IRIX, UNIX (SunOS), DOS.
- Hardware Platforms: Silicon Graphics, SPARC, IBM PC.
Military Service:
Criminal intelligence investigator, I.D.F. (Israel Defense Force), Israel
(August, 1984 - August, 1987).
