The Interactive Desk
Features of the desk
- 26" CRT display
- projector display with an A1-sized transparent tablet used to provide the desktop with an
pen-input facility
- stylus pen for annotating
- keyboard for text input
Switching input methods
- displaying documents on the upright display, when the keyboard is in the middle of the desk
- projecting documents onto the desk, when the keyboard is not in the center of the desk
Aim:
- reducing the number of commands users are expected to input
- different from DigitalDesk, but these features could also be applied here (but aren't)
Retrieving Files
- linking 'real objects' to electronic files
Discussion:
- switching between input methods is necessary, because a 'direct' interface (keyboard)
to the computer is yet still needed
