Word-level Unistroke Soft Keyboards
A word-level unistroke keyboard is a soft keyboard allowing a user to
go from any key to any other key without lifting the pen or entering
unwanted keys. We've created javascript demos of two such keyboards, a
circular one, and one consisting of two vertical columns. We've
published a paper about
Cirrin as well.
- 1)
Cirrin (the CIRculaR INput device)
- 2) A Vertical
word-level unistroke keyboard (consisting of two vertical columns).
The system is actually part of a suite of input and output tools
(inputlets and outputlets), in use in a DigitalDesk-like environment
as part of the Pendragon
project. These include a foot mouse, a keyboard, a software mouse,
soft-key buttons, and several circular word-level keyboards with
complementary character sets. With this combination, our user often
finds herself doing four-limbed input!
