Problem
One of the central pieces of Classroom 2000 is an electronic whiteboard,
called ZenPad. ZenPad, designed by Jason Brotherton, allows for basic
whiteboard capabilities during a lecture, keeping track of exactly when
all gestures are created. An additional feature of ZenPad is that it allows
an image (in GIF format) to be loaded into the background. The
teacher can then write on top of a prepared presentation.
The objective of this project is to allow a teacher to bring prepared
slides printed on paper to class and load them into ZenPad's
electronic whiteboard by scanning them in. To accomplish this,
you need to construct a system that scans in an image and then
automatically FTPs the result to a place that ZenPad expects. It's
not all that difficult to do and there are a couple people who
can offer some pretty good advice on how to proceed.
