We will meet tonight at 4:30 in CoC 102 (Classroom 2000) for about one
hour, to discuss the readings and general topics in building automation.
At about 5:30 we will head to my house for a tour, food, etc. This will
probably start between 6:00 and 6:15, depending mostly on how bad traffic
is. Some food will be out as you arrive, but the hot stuff will arrive
around 7:15 which should give us enough time for the tour first.
Simple directions from Tech, in case you didn't get a map:
(1) North on I-85 to Shallowford Road, exit 33 - turn RIGHT
(2) East on Shallowford until you dead-end into Briarcliff (about 1 mile) -
turn LEFT
(3) Pass thru the blinking yellow light, and you will come to the first
"real" traffic light at Briarcliff Way (again about 1 mile) - turn LEFT
(4) At the first and only light, which is Henderson Mill Road - turn LEFT
(5) At the first light, Midvale Road - turn RIGHT
(6) On your left, turn into EMPIRE SQUARE. This little entry dead-ends
into a real square, and you will be at the southern center of it. Turn
RIGHT for the southeast corner, then LEFT to head north along the eastern
side. We're on the right, 2657 is marked on the mailbox post - and if
you've been to the Website, our house is unmistakably the only contemporary
house in sight.
It's a series of "first lights" and "dead ends", so no counting involved.
I will also try to have extra maps available at class.
Feel free to park in the driveway if you don't mind being parked in. If
you're planning to leave early, you may want to consider the street. You
are welcome to stay as late as you like.
