This quarter's Future Computing Environments seminar is going to
focus on FCE in the home. There are lots of activities going on
within the College, GVU and the Broadband Telecommunications Center (BTC)
that are directly relevant to the kinds of issues we intend to look
at this quarter. The College is in the midst of deciding how to change
the atmosphere around here with different space ideas. The BTC is
building a prototype apartment of the future over in GCATT and are looking
for ideas of what technology to include (they are going to have a version
of CyberFridge!). It's an interesting time indeed!
Important details: The seminar will be on Tuesdays, BEGINNING October 22
from 5-6:30pm. We will meet in the GVU Conference room initially, but
we are likely to move to alternate cites throughout the quarter.
If you would like to find out more information on the FCE seminar
or the FCE activities, consult the Web pages (www.cc.gatech.edu/fce)
and/or subscribe to the FCE mailing list (future@cc) through Majordomo.
Details and preliminary schedule information for the seminar are
located at www.cc.gatech.edu/fce/seminar/current-weekly.html.
Look forward to seeing everybody on October 22. That is two weeks from
yesterday.
