Here is the message that I have been promising.....

The interface to the Newton was implemented by Logica in the UK
especialy for this expedition. I
furnished them with the serial command protocols required to
communicate with the camera. This
current application only downloads the images to the newton and
prepares them to be uploaded to a
satelite. It allows the expedition members to append some text
to the images as well, but does not
display the actual images in the newton itself.

As you mentioned, some enabeling technology is required to do
this (a JPEG viewer is one of the basic
components needed). I am working with Apple, Logica and other
interested 3rd party developersto try to
investigate the possibilities of this platform.

What type of applications do you develop? Can you send me some
information on your company and
products?
Where/how would you want to use a digital camera. I am working
on a business case for further
development and funding. The more interested parties there are,
the stronger the case will be.

You can contact me directly at omvik@agfahome.com

Thanks for your interest.

Best regards
