Charlie,

I greatly enjoyed meeting with you on Monday and brainstorming
with you on some ways that the Cyberguide project can go in
the future.

One of the students on the project found information on the
Kodak 420 GPS camera. Wow! This might be just the ticket
we need if we were to integrate a camera more easily with
any other platform providing the Cyberguide touring services.

Would it be possible for you to provide us with a demo model
of this camera so that we can immediately start to investigate
integrating it with a Newton or pen-based PC? A developer's kit
would also be very useful.

Thanks,
Gregory

KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE 420 GPS Camera

The TRIMBLE ENSIGN Receiver shown in the picture is not part of the KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE 420 GPS Camera and must be puchased separately. With one click of the shutter, this megapixel single-lens reflex camera combines Global Positioning System (GPS) data from select, commercially available GPS receivers with the full functionality of the KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE 420 Camera - color, monochrome infrared or monochrome.

When interfaced to the GPS receiver, the camera records latitude and longitude of the camera location for each image acquired. This data is stored within the image data block making it available for future identification of image position. No more manually merging GPS data with images.
