Folks,

There are two important demo dates in the upcoming weeks, and we
need to organize some people to demo for both.

First, next Thursday, Jan. 30, over in the GCATT building in the
morning, there is a demo time for the Broadband Telecommunications
Center Industrial Affiliates Day. The projects that they would like
to see are:

1) Cyberguide - RWL folks need to be able to show the outdoor
version running on the Fujitsus.

2) Classroom 2000 - We can either set up to show the new video,
or we can use the new Destination PC/TV to demo various C 2000
tools. It is a Win 95 machine like the Liveboard, only not pen
sensitive.

3) Domisilica - Jen has already talked with Ken Calvert about
what is to be done for this. Jen, please coordinate with the
undergrad kitchen project (Jason Anderson mainly) to see what
devices they can bring to GCATT for demonstration puroses.

The second Demo Day is for the GVU Industrial Affiliates meeting,
also called the GVU Research Review Day. That is scheduled for Thursday,
Feb. 6. Many of you will have already seen the news on this.
We need to set up demos for 2:15-3 and 3-4. I would like the following
projects demoed:

1) C 2000 - Jason, I know you are tiring of doing all of the
work for the demos, so I will leave it to you to appropriately
delegate. And you can determine how long the demo will be available.

2) CyberDesk - Anind and Mike run the show on this, but please involve
Dav Hass and Jason Ellis as well. Show the Newton stuff. Again, you
can determine how long you want to do this.

3) Cyberguide - Jeff Dempsey and Jason Hong are in charge of setting
up and scheduling people to demo Cyberguide. At this point it only
makes sense to show the outdoor version on the Fujitsu, though you
can try to demo the indoor versions with the help of Mike Pinkerton,
Joerg Lepler, and Peter Ilberg.

4) Domisilica - same as for BTC demo day, only located over here in
the GVU lab.

5) Motorola/WIS - Rob and Laura run this show. Let's try to remember
to program in the phone number to call WIS to avoid any complications.

I would ask that each project contact Don Allison to make sure he
knows when and where the GVU demo will occur. You can copy me on
the message as well.

I'll see all of you on Friday.

Gregory

P.S. Yes, I do remember how often I call on you to do demos. If
it gets to be too much of a burden, then we will have to find a
reasonable way to make everyone happy. For now, these demos help
a lot to get us further funding for FCE activities.
