Due to the rapidly expanding technology of mobile communications, mobile users with portable computers are capable of accessing information anywhere and at any time. This new communication style will significantly affect the distributed computing enviornments. In this special issue, we focus on all aspects of mobile computing: distributed computing with mobile communication capability. Specifically, we would expect most submitted papers to fit into one of the following general categories, but not necessarily limited to them:
- Mobile communications network architecture - Mobility management for wireless network - Mobile computing applications - Performance modeling of mobile computing systems - Design and analysis for mobile computing algorithms - Fault tolerance for mobile computing - Distributed databases for mobile computing - Environment aware and adaptive communication protocols - Energy Efficient Software Design - Wireless and Location Dependent Information Systems - Highway Information Systems }
Authors are invited to submit postscript files (no more than 35 double-spaced papges) to liny@csie.nctu.edu.tw according to the following time table. Submission Deadline: June 15, 1996; Acceptance Notice: September 15, 1996; Final manuscript: November 15, 1996; Publication date: February 1997.
