IR hardware

I now have in my possession the IR hardware from Sue, and the documentation
from Ben Brewer to build them. I have 2 questions.

#1. What kind of RS-232 connector do I place on the ends? Unless I hear
otherwise, I'm guessing that it would be db-9. Do palmtops use the same
round 9-pin din that the Newton has?

#2. I need some extra parts to complete all 9 of these. I have 3 of the
33K-ohm pull-down resistors. I need 6 more. I need the RS-232 connectors,
none in the box. I assume, since I can't see the PCs themselves, the
connectors are DCE (female). I need 9 74LS04 inverter chips. I would also
like to get several colors of 22/24 guage hook-up wire to attach to the
db-9 connectors. Ideally, I would like to obtain what I can tomorrow (Friday)
and go out and buy the rest in order to complete this over the weekend.
I assume this is okay?
