The Newton has a built in IR port (consisting of a Sharp Transceiver)
so there would be no need to connect a Sharp Transceiver to
a Newton serial port. The PC group could, I believe, connect a
Sharp transceiver directly to the serial port on the DTRs -or-
they could use the motorolla processor to connect to the DTR, which
may be more redundant, but easier for now ... they should explore all
their options. That was my main point to Nancy.
