GTW/TeD/PNNI |
---|
Glad to know of your interest in the TeD/GTW/PNNI software. The project that funded our TeD/GTW/PNNI work has ended a few years ago, and so, unfortunately, we do not currently have resources to support it and consequently we are not eagerly distributing the software. However, you might find relevant our more recent and active work on large-scale network simulations using the ns2, GloMoSim and other network packages. Some of that work is documented in pages and publications off the following URLs:
If you still feel GTW/TeD/PNNI software is more appropriate for your purposes, please see below our standard distribution notice which contains terms and conditions of usage and instructions on downloading the software.
Thanks for your interest in the TeD/GTW & PNNI software. Support for TeD/PNNI has ended. You can download the TeD software (as per terms and conditions), but we'll be unable to respond to problems/questions on it. Below are the (old) guidelines for TeD/PNNI software. The software has been tested on multiple platforms, but SGI Irix 6 or later, or Sun Solaris 2.5 or later might give you least installation trouble.
GTW++ has some sample applications included under TED3.1/GTW++/APP. A good one to start with is the pingpong application. Similarly, TeD has some simple TeD applications included under TED3.1/TED/APP.
Documentation is included under GTW/DOC, GTW++/DOC and TED/DOC. Further
information is on-line at:
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/tedreadme.html.
Please read the terms and conditions on usage of the software as described in:
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/tedreadme.html#Copyright.
If you agree to all the terms, you can download the TeD software from
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/RELEASES/ted3.1.tar.Z
and the PNNI software from
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/RELEASES/pnni2.1.tar.Z
The documentation is available as:
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/tedreadme.html
and
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/computing/pads/pnnireadme.html
Please note that support is little for this software, primarily due to lack of personnel/resources. I'd however be happy to answer questions on a time-available basis.
Note also that TeD does NOT have a graphical model development environment. It uses standard console text editors and C++ compilers/debuggers. Since it is primarily a research-oriented tool, it doesn't include the sophistication of other commercial (sequential) network simulators in the market. Due to the research-oriented nature, our documentation and maintenance efforts tend to lag behind, so you may encounter some potential rough spots in initial installation/execution stages related to compiler and operating system differences.
For our accounting purposes, please indicate how you became aware of TeD, and the type of research in which you are interested w.r.t. this software.
