Think about the features we would like to see in the mail reader

Ideas for ways in which we can implement the folder system
- Sort folders based on who the mail is from
- Check the source code for elm to see how it handles folders
- Organize inbox into user defined folders but not actually change the inbox until it is dragged to a folder
- Should we implement the delete function separately
Can we implement the mail reader as a desktop metaphor (Jay's interface notes)
Things to think about for the next meeting:
- How do we want to handle the multimedia files
- Think about the look for a desktop mail reader

The Project Plan schedule will now be revised at every Monday meeting
Now that we have established that we can create the proposed interface using Java, we need to think about what other features we want
Proposed ways of dealing with setup on various platforms
- User should establish a "preferences text file on each machine
- The program could automatically mail a configuration file to the user's machine carrying the needed information
Requirements freeze will be Thursday (1/25)
Things to think about for the next meeting
- Finalize the functional requirements
- Everyone come up with a scenario for use in the Requirements Doc

Set the functional requirements for the requirements document
- Allow the user to read his mail
- Implement physical folders
- Support for MIME
- Support for virtual folders
Set the non-functional requirements for the requrements document
- Create a desktop-like environment
- Set acceptable speed limits for the mail reader
- Set acceptable fault tolerances for the mail reader
Set the network and platform requirements
- The server must run IMAP
- We're doing it on Solaris and Win 95
- Must have a Java developer's kit
- Netscape 2.0 must be running on the client

Get rid of the meeting times on Monday and Thursday except when extra time is needed
Meet on Monday to complete the architectural stuff for the design doc
