HotSite Of The Week

Downing Street Memo
This week's HotSite is DowningStreetMemo.com, a website set up in part by Democratic Congressman John Conyers who sponsored an online petition to try to get the White House to answer questions about a British memo related to the invasion of Iraq. The Downing Street "Memo" is actually a document containing meeting minutes transcribed during the Prime Minister Blair's meeting on July 23, 2002- eight months prior to the invasion of Iraq.

On Thursday, June 16, Congressman John Conyers delivered his letter to the President with the signatures of over 540,000 Americans and 122 members of Congress. Not content to stop there, Conyers has pledged to keep his campaign going, and to personally see to it that every additional signature is delivered to the White House.

Signatures grew to over 560,000 as of 6-17-05
