CS7496: Computer Animation

simulation, analysis, and control of dynamic systems

This course introduces basic technologies and mathematical tools for simulation, analysis, and control of dynamic systems with an emphasis on human motion. The goal of this course is to lay a solid mathematical foundation for graduate students who are interested in pursuing a researcher career in computer graphics, robotics, biomechanics, and numeric analysis. The course consists of three major themes: physics simulation, human motion control , and statistical modeling. A list of topics can be found under “Syllabus”. The format of this course will be a mixture of lectures, paper reading, and discussion. The evaluation of this course is based on three mini-projects and a final research project. The description of each project can be found under “Projects”.
