%TI 1994 Cognitive Science Conference

%AB As Cognitive Science has matured over the years, it has broadened its
    scope in order to address fundamental issues of cognition embedded within
    culturally, socially, and technologically rich environments.  The
    Sixteenth Annual Conference of the Cognitive Science Society aimed at
    broad coverage of the many topics, methodologies, and disciplines that
    comprise Cognitive Science.  The conference highlighted new ideas,
    theories, methods and results in a wide range of research areas relating
    to cognition.

%TI Mobile Robotics Lab

%AB The Mobile Robot Laboratory's charter is to discover and develop
    fundamental scientific principles and practices that are applicable to
    intelligent mobile robot systems. In addition, it is the goal of this
    laboratory to facilitate technology transfer of its research results to
    yield solutions to real world problems for a wide range of application
    domains.

%TI The EduTech Institute

%AB On January 1, 1993, the EduTech Institute was established on the campus
    of Georgia Tech.  EduTech serves as a coordinator and facilitator of
    efforts to improve the educational process at Georgia Tech.  Wherever
    possible, EduTech will focus on the transfer of those improvements into
    pre-college environments.

%AB We are investigating a broad range of issues in artificial intelligence,
    machine learning, case-based reasoning, natural language understanding,
    creativity, education, and cognitive science.  The broad theme is the
    development of multistrategy reasoning and learning systems that are
    introspective, goal-directed, adaptive, and opportunistic.  Research
    issues are investigated in an integrated manner across several different
    task domains, including story understanding, diagnostic problem solving,
    robot control, and education.

%AB The Journal of the Learning Sciences is a cognitive science journal that
    provides a multidisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of
    research on teaching and learning. Emphasis is placed on important ideas
    that can change our understanding of learning as well as the practice of
    education.  Articles will evolve from disciplines such as artificial
    intelligence, cognitive science, cognitive and educational psychology,
    cognitive anthropology, education, and educational technology.
